Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions?  Let's see if we can answer them....

Why charter vs. rent a boat myself?

Our goal is to take the stress off of the person (or people) responsible for driving and keeping your passengers safe on the lake.  Many required tasks like navigation, parking, and anchoring can be very challenging when the lake is busy or the wind picks up.  A boat of this size requires an experienced driver.  You may save a little money by renting yourself, but you're responsible if things go wrong. With us, you have an experienced captain at your disposal.  Sit back, relax, and enjoy the views!

Why has your opening been delayed?

We are ready to take guests out on the lake now!  However, commercial operations on Beaver Lake requires approval.  We're working on it and are unable to operate commercially until we gain these approvals.  We apologize for the delay and look forward to taking your party out in the future!

How do I book a charter?

Our booking calendar is currently blocked, due to delays with getting approvals to operate commercially on the lake.  When we receive approval to operate, we will open up our calendar and you can book the date/time of your trip on the website calendar.  Then, we'll coordinate a place to pick up your party.   When booking, please let us know if we can do anything special or if you have ideas for the trip.

How many people are allowed?

Due to the boat capacity rating, your party can be no larger than 12 people.

How does paying for fuel work?

In the boat rental industry, it's standard for customers to pay for their fuel usage during their rental.  We follow the same principal.  The only difference is that we don't charge wear and tear or other misc fees.  We'll pick you up with a full gas tank, then we'll stop and fill the tank at the end of the trip.  This process typical when renting boats on the lake.

Where do we meet and get picked-up?

Beaver Lake Boat Charters is located in Garfield AR.  We can meet you at the following locations:

  1. Lost Bridge South launch ramp (park day use pass req. - $5 per car)

  2. Lost Bridge North launch ramp (park day pass req. - $5 per car)

  3. Private docks in the Garfield AR area

  4. Other locations may be scheduled if approved by the captain

What about life jackets?

We'll have 12 adult USCG life jackets on board.  If you have small children or infants, you'll need to bring adequate flotation devices for them.  Feel free to bring your own jackets, floatation devices, water cushions, noodles, etc.

What do I need to bring?

Bring everything you'd need for a day at the lake.  Towels, sunscreen, food/snacks, drinks, etc.  Don't forget to bring plenty of water!  If you don't want to drag around a big cooler, that's fine.  We'll have an RTIC 65 hard cooler with ice on board.  We can keep your food and bev's cold all day.

What if we run short on food or drinks while we're out?

Starkey Marina has you covered.  They have snacks, soft drinks, beer, shaved ice, bagged ice and also serve up made-to-order pizza's.  We can stop by for all of your lake needs.

Can I bring alcohol?

Yes, you can bring your favorite adult beverages.  However, please refrain from bringing beer in glass bottles.  Liquor bottles are ok, if they are stored properly.  We have aluminum and plastic bottle recycling on board.  Please drink responsibly.

Are pets allowed?

We know that most pets are an important part of the family.  However, we ask that you keep your 4-legged loved ones at home.  If you have questions related to this policy, feel free to contact us directly.

What's not allowed on the boat?

  • Pets: Sorry, not 4 legged family members.

  • Smoking: no smoking is allowed on the boat.  If you want to smoke cigs, you can smoke in the water, not on the boat.

  • Drugs: We say nope to the dope.  The trip ends there.

  • Being just plain stupid: hey, we're all here to have a good time.  However, please check the attitudes and drama at the dock.

What is the cancellation policy?

Hopefully, you make it!  At this point, we are not asking for deposits on future trips. Weather happens, so please bring rain gear if rain is in the forecast.  Once we're officially operating and using our online booking calendar, we will ask for a deposit when booking.
